VFTR-Hillside Scrambles

Wow!!! what an awesome venue, this was virgin territory for the riders and the club. VFTR dug deep and spend the time to organize a perfect event despite the dry dusty conditions. 250+ riders showed up on sunday to break in this new venue. From signup to awards the VFTR held to the strict schedule and pulled off a great day of racing. With 6+ miles of trails and grasstrack the 2:30 Main Event took off in a storm of powder that settled into a fun course for all. Stoner and Delong battled with Delong coming in on top, Brad Baken road tough also to manage a well deserved 3rd place.

In the C event Kinsley, Quinn, Powers took the top 3 spots. The PeeWee and Youth Courses where great, some major grass tracks and sone creek crossings for their amusement. In the PeeWee's, Michael Beeler just tore it up to take his class over Jason Tino and the PeeWee Overall from Daulton Fry. Thorn Devlin used all the real estate at this venue to hang tough and win his first Youth Overall, the last few events he knocked at the door but this time hit the mark. Congratulations Thorn !!! Tegan temple was 2nd.

Can't wait for next year when VFTR really has some time to fine tune this awesome course in Lawton, PA.....

HMDR / AMA National Hare Scramble
HMDR HMDR Top 3The High Mountain Dirt Riders AMA National Hare Scramble Race was held on July 31 with the Youth National and August 1st with the AMA East National.

Saturday was a picture perfect day, the trails where perfrct with little to no dust or mud. Benjamin Wright took the 50cc race, Kyle tino took the top spot in the 65cc event and Tegan Temple out battled Thorn Devlin for the youth Overall.
Sunday Started out as ordered with Mother Nature sprinkling the track with dust control. She went a bit overboard and provided a slick course for the Morning Event. Randal riggs road like he was on a cloud sweeping the field for a win in the A Super Senior Class and the morning Overall.
After clearing the course and a few changes the 11+ mile Main course was ready, 1 pm was decided as the start time to allow the course to tack up and get underway.
The Pro/AA was filled with some familiar riders as well as the national gang...Delong, Stoner, Greer, Palmer, Lafferty... After the start was a short 3 minute section of woods and grass track thru the scoring area to begin the lap.. 38.57 minutes later Mike Lafferty completed lap one in the lead with a tight train of other riders in the hunt.. A 4 lap race was now on. After some lead changes Mike Lafferty rode hard to take the overall, winning another AMA National Hare Scramble.
