I run the Korean Martial Arts Institute in Newark DE. Have been training for years. The benefits of the training have really added to my riding ability so with the permission of the board i decided to offer any ECEA club member or Enduro Club member a special discounted rate at any of the Karate schools that I manage. It is a good alternative to the gym and works for Kids as well as Adults. if you have ever had problems with staying motivated this might be the activity with the gentle push that you need. I manage schools in Newark,Hockessin, Middletown, & Dover DE as well as Pendel Pa,Kennet Square PA, and Trenton NJ. If you or any of your family members are interested you can contact me at 302 369 9300 and i can arrange an appointment with the academy closest to you.

Take it from someone who has fallen victim to George's axe kicks
and wicked ground-n-pound
out on the trail, the training is top notch!

Martial Arts training is a COMPLETE workout....
When I was training for my Black Belt at age 41 I truly was in the best shape of my life. My endurance was better then many 1/2 my age... It combines Strength training, cardo and flexibility all at once. Benefits that no gym membership can equal... Plus there is interaction with others to push you to want to train and work harder...
I am looking for another school as I'd like to start training again, 35+ lbs since I stopped is the main reason, but there are many other benefits besides the physical type as I talked about and have not mentioned..
Just seems the areas you mentioned are not very close to me..

I wonder if this will whip me into enough shape to get into the UFC or WEC. I want to go up against Uriah Faber. He's exactly the same size as I am, but he doesn't have quite the muscle definition that I do. I just need a little more cardio, hone my judo chops, and perfect my sumo stance. On second thought, maybe I should just stick to watching TV on my couch this winter.
i have done a lot of competition. my advice has always been that if you have "get punched in the face with an mma glove as hard as someone can hit." on your list of things to do....cross it off.

I just need to know two moves;
1. Karate chop to those that pass me.
2. Karate Chop to those that are in my way.

Just so you know, Mr Maybroda teaches my three older boys and I must say that he is a very impressive teacher. He can hold a class with 20 kids and still seem to focus on each one individually. He doesn't teach over there heads and most imprtant, he keeps the kids interested and riveted. The classes go by so fast and the kids do so much that they can't wait to go back.
George is a world class athlete, a world class competitor, and a world class teacher. And that is no exaggeration. If anyone is considering the Martial Arts, here is your chance to learn from a real World Champion. (not a joke)
