I bought another bike in september....just realized I never insured it for theft. I called progressive and in 30 seconds had coverage for $113. We always here the stories about people having their bikes stolen. Take a second and walk out in your garage and figure out if you can pay cash for your bike if its gone in the morning.

Progressive has the best prices. I pay $115 a year for liability coverage on 99 suzuki 1200 bandit and my 03 KX 250. I don't need theft coverage because they are so old and hammered that no one would steal them. jj

Progressive has a minimum they charge in each state. I have found in PA that you can add coverage and still be at that minimum price.

Check your homeowners policy. Mine covered both of my bikes when they were stolen.
When we found the bikes, they paid for the repairs.

I'm with Nationwide, home and auto. I have to get an additional "rider" (catchy, huh) on my policy, and would cost an additional $100, give or take a few shillings.

"Many insurance policies exclude coverage for watercraft and other recreational vehicles commonly located (stored) at your residence. In addition, these vehicles are often excluded under standard automobile insurance policies. To obtain coverage for loss of these vehicles, many insurance companies offer an optional rider. Check with your insurer to determine if such coverage is excluded and, if so, whether a rider may be added to the insurance policy to cover these vehicles."

I have state farm for home owners and found out the hard way that they considered motorcycles,dirt bikes ect. covered under their own policy or could be added via a rider.That was being stolen from a garage attached to the house.I fully insure all of them now through Progressive and the added cost isn't that much more than just the liability requirements.$633 a year for 3 bikes and that even includes roadside assistance

When my bike was stolen in 09, I had progressive & they ended up paying me 7200 for a 08 300 xcw. Needless to say when I got my 2010 ktm I ins. it tru progressive also. Best money I probally ever spent was on that ins. policy.
