In response to the trend of decreasing attendance for our Enduro over the last several years, the Delaware Enduro Riders will be making some changes for our 2012 event. For 2012 both Brian Glenn and myself will be sharing the job of trailboss.

We are still working out the details and will keep you informed as plans develop but here is what we have planned so far:

Start / restart format (using traditional ECEA scoring). No timekeeping needed. All sections will have a start control and you will be able to grip it and rip it to the checkout.

Overall shorter and more rider friendly event.

Use of course cut offs and / or splits to keep all C, BSSR, Masters, Golden Masters and Women fresh and to still be able to provide a challenge for all other AA, A and B riders.

No BS...No checks to burn...No rules games...No gimmicks of any type!

If you have been asking for these changes consider attending our event. Our future format for enduros will depend on your response to these changes.

Thanks for working hard to make a better - more well attended event! Seems like the 1st 3 nationals were sell outs and they also had the no time keeping thing too, however none of them were short or easy....Have u considered cut offs? i know this can be a pain, but just mentioning it....

we are on the same page...AA,A & B will be tested but those who need the breaks will get them... thanks for the feedback. bring some friends!

I see Delaware's point/concern and they are trying to survive and grow attendance. Let's not start dissing them before even riding the event. Me personally, I like the time keeping and traditional type enduro but a club can't continue to lose THOUSANDS of dollars every year by having poor attendance. We should get more of a commitment and support from sister clubs to try to support each other. Delaware is unique and always offered up something a little more challenging and different. I can't see them offering anything that would resemble a dual sport for their enduro. Let's give them a chance and see what they can do....just my 2 cents...

This event will not be a Dual Sport...AA, A and B WILL BE TESTED. This is about giving a break to those who need it. The majority of our club, myself included, would prefer to have a traditional timekeeper but what we prefer isnt paying the bills. A loss of over 120 riders over a few years span x $45.00 per rider, you can do the math. We are testing the waters to try and stimulate growth...nothing less and nothing more.

We already have a buzz around Mikey's shop about maybe going back to DER this year, so far we have a crew assembling, first time in 3 years...
