Up for consideration is my 1987 BMW K100. I have owned it 3 years, and I put around 5000 miles on it. Bike is in nice condition. A couple scratches (shown in picture) are normal for a bike of this age. 28K miles on it. All fluids and drive shaft spline lube done just before I bought it. PA inspected through 10/10. tires were close at inspection, but passed. Some of the pictures show an ugly rear box on the bike which I have removed (but It goes with bike). includes some spare parts (filters, etc), extra muffler, tank bra (why cover beautiful paint?). New rear shock last fall. Battery is around 2 years old. I would not hesitate to ride this one long distance.
edit: Has "bar backs" that raise the handle bars around 1" up and rearward.
Asking $3100.00 OBO (or enough to buy a KTM LC4 smile.gif ). towpro at comcast dot net

Your bike is in nice shape.I had an 86 that was red,the bike was as dependable as a rock.I drove that until I got one of the K1200RS models.I think that I once spent 11 hours 2 up coming out to the coast in Virgina on mine. The bike was quite comfortable and smooth running.Good luck with the sale biggrin.gif

Sure you don't want one for "old time memory's". I have ridden it once since I got my Buell Ulysses this fall.
If I am going to have 2 bikes, I really want a KTMLC4 as the 2nd bike, just like the one you are selling smile.gif

I don't know about that Frank, they are 2 different animals.I loved the buells that I have rode, several of them, the Ulysses being one that I wouldn't mind having in the garage. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, some views are more distorted than others

I've ridden Buells, too, John. They are nice. It's not about how great the great the bike is, but that Buell is dead as a company. Harley killed it last year. Support, as in parts, will become a problem, especially given H-D's current commitment to cost cutting. Buell sales never topped 10,000 per year, versus 300,000 for H-D at its peak. H-D will honor existing warranties, but after that, who knows?

That's why I said dump it and keep the BMW. Sorry if I'm a buzz killer.

I am not worried about parts. HD has committed to 7 years support (if you bought a Buell today, you could purchase warranty out to 7 years with unlimited mileage).
There was a temporary parts shortage caused by people "panic buying" spares, but that is starting to clear up.
a lot of common wear engine parts are also used in the harley line.
Eric Buell already has a new company and is starting to support the CR1125's, and some parts for the XB's. They are already talking about new CR1125's for racers sold under an agreement with HD, Some expect to see some different bikes for sale in time. Maybe there is a "non compete" that needs to expires?

In 7 years my Daughter will be out of Collage. I plan on keeping the Uly until then. I am sure in 7 years there will be something else I like, or my riding style might change, time will tell.

Sounds good, Will. It's good to see they will support their product.

I tell my 3 kids if they don't get good grades, their 529-C accounts are going to turn into a new Ducati Desmosedici. Desmosedici; of course, that would probably mean they would have my life insurance to spend shortly thereafter. Although, if the stock market keeps going down, it would be Chinese scooter.
