Hey John,

Are you looking to run one all the time or just rocks?

If you have a problem stalling in the tight stuff, it will help, keep it light as possible in the sand. It will benifit you more in the rocks, it calms the hit down a bit to help keep you from spinning. The best brand is SBF, they are machined to fit perfectly around the flywheel rivots and are held on with the flywheel nut, not set screws that come loose, or thread in that can be slightly off and not meet the flywheel flat. Its important to make sure your bike is tight. Meaning your main bearings are good with NO play, as the weight will not cause problems, but intensify any issues you may have. Try the 11oz. Dont know what year your YZ is, but then did change the length of the stock crank and yamaha did not mention it, from 07- 09. 09 is a tad longer and the weight may hit your cover so make sure you get the correct year. SBF is aware of this....

Good luck.

Jeff

I like the 9 oz'er in the sand... and definitley go with the 11 oz'er in the rocks (had that one on for the RORR HS event I did in '08... that was the ticket for me there on my YZ250 !!)

Always used the 11 oz on the yz 250 -3 -05 and loved it .. The nice thing if you go with the 11oz and find you want to go lighter a machine shop could cut it down to 9 oz Go 9 and want more weight .. different story..
